a magnitude of 9.3, the earthquake of 26 December 2004 was the second
largest on record.
The
resulting Tsunami reached Aceh and North Sumatra provinces in Indonesia
in less than
20
minutes, with waves up to 20 m high. More than 200,000 people are
believed to have died
in
Indonesia alone and close to 300,000 globally.
